Here I am again, in Prince Edward County.   There are so many fabulous places to visit that it makes it hard to list every place we've been too.  Here are some highlights of some of the other wineries and restaurants we had the pleasure of visiting.  Pictured immediately below are pictures from Blumen Garden Bistro. They have a beautiful patio with secluded, intimate dining areas.  Andreas Feller is the Chef and owner. Originally from Switzerland he blends  modern homestyle with old world favourites and uses local produce in all his dishes.

This is the back entrance to the screened in dining porch.
The screened in patio is a very intimate dining area.

One of their delicious appetizers.  Crab Cake
Above, grilled duck breast.  Below, gnocchi in truffle oil
Lobster Ravioli
Claramount Inn, Picton.  This is another great Inn and restaurant with a very creative Chef  Lyndon B Johnston.  He's been preparing fine food in the Prince Edward County area for over 20 years and before Clara's was Chef at Currah's Cafe. The Claramount Inn is an old Colonial Revival Mansion facing Picton Bay.  It has a huge wrap around veranda where in the summer you can enjoy a glass of wine and great food while watching the sunset on the Bay.  In fact the property extends all the way down to the water and guests are invited to stroll the grounds.

The night we were there Chef made a  fois gras that was dusted in ground ginger snap cookies, seared and served with stewed rhubarb.  It was so delicious I had to go back a 2nd night to have it again. Sadly, right now it's not on the menu.

Below is another appetizer....grilled shrimp and smoked trout over a bed of baby arugula.

Karlo Estates Winery is located in Wellington, Ontario just off Loyalist Parkway and very near the shores of Lake Ontario.  The latitude and soil in the area is very similar to the Burgundy area of France. The winery opened in 2010 and is producing some amazing wines.

This is their beautiful patio.

Above is a bridge built on the property in 2007.  It is the largest mortarless structure in North Americn and is made up of 45 tonnes of locally quarried chocolate limestone.  Guests are invited to take a glass of wine and stroll through the property and picnic by the bridge.

The last featured winery and restaurant is Waupoos Estates and Gazebo Restaurant.  Jeff Wilson is the Executive Chef. Born and raised in Prince Edward County, he previously worked under Chef Hartley and Chef Royce in the Gazebo Restaurant until recently taking over the helm.

More Prince Edward County

Here I am, back again with more pictures of Prince Edward County.  One of the wineries we visited just added a sculpture garden and art gallery called Oeno.  The sculpture garden sits on 40 acres of land adjacent to the winery and is filled with contemporary and abstract work by Canadian Artists.  Huff Estates is located just north of Bloomfield, Ontario which is 2 hours east of Toronto.  We spent a wonderful day walking through the gardens and then enjoyed a glass of chardonnay at the winery.

I hope you enjoy the walk through the garden with me!
